If you're looking a heavy hitting album to headbang to look no further than Minutes To Midnight by none other than Linkin Park. Recommended by my good friend Eimantas this album packs a punch while also pulling on the heartstrings. Falling into the genre of Nu-Metal/Alternative Rock which was pioneered by the likes of Linkin Park, Korn and System Of A Down I feel this is an album that many people can enjoy. With the heavy screams of Chester Bennington and the slick rap vocals of Mike Shinoda you definitely want to listen to this one.

With stand out tracks such as Bleed It Out and Given Up which features Chester Bennington's notorious 17 second scream which I don't think any artist could replicate this is an album which will bring metalheads and rap fanatics together. The album title itself refers to the doomsday clock symbolising the need to address global issues and the potential for impending doom. I would give this album a rating of 9 / 10.

We can see a shift in the bands motives when compared to their debut album Hybrid Theory as Minutes To Midnight focuses a more on global issues such as war and injustice paired together with a more experimental sound with melodic singing. Whilst Hybrid Theory focused more on deeper personal struggles with a raw and youthful tone. We can truly see how the band began to focus more on their artistic evolution. For a fan of this album I would have to recommend Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park and Toxicity - System Of A Down

About The Artist
Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. Known for blending rock, metal, hip-hop, and electronic elements, they became pioneers of the nu-metal genre. Their debut album Hybrid Theory (2000) achieved massive success, featuring hits like “In the End” and “Crawling.” The band evolved with albums like Meteora and Minutes to Midnight, exploring deeper themes and diverse sounds. Fronted by Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park’s music expressed emotional pain, resilience, and social awareness. Even after Bennington’s death in 2017, their influence on modern rock and alternative music remains profound and enduring.
